Ponts à Houyet

Within this assignment 2 rail bridges in the heart of Wallonia are being demolished and the load-bearing structure is being replaced by 2 new steel box girders. Each box girder is approximately 40 meters long and 4 meters wide.

The box girders are manufactured and painted in Eeklo and transported in two parts to the assembly site in the Gendron-Celles station, the nearest station to the final location. At this location the bridge parts are connected to each other by welding and the paint system is completed.

The installation will be carried out by the main contractor Sodraep in collaboration with Infrabel.
