Description

Formerly known as the Montgomery bridge, the Water Street Bridge connects the Canary Wharf district with the new Wood Wharf district, carrying pedestrian and vehicle traffic over the Bellmouth Passage.

All bridge parts and temporary works steel have been fabricated in VBSC workshops in Eeklo and Ghent, Belgium. The bridge was transported in one piece from Ghent, over the North Sea to Canary Wharf, London. The bridge was floated in with barge and SPMTs.

The bridge pivots on the east abutment, lifted by two cylinders below the deck, without counterweight.
